What defines this layout

Using Sable as a CV
Sable carries a photo, which is what a continental European CV expects alongside the personal details a British one leaves out. For the UK, Ireland or Australia, turn the photo off in Customize — the layout closes up around it and the rest of the page is unchanged.
It is set tight, which helps on the two-page limit most non-academic CVs are read against.

Is Sable the right choice?
Who it suits
Warm two-column work — design, hospitality, anything where warm browns read as considered rather than corporate. The banded headings give a short history more structure than it would otherwise have.
What it does to ATS parsing
Two columns, so give the extracted text a ten-second check. The heading bands are background fills and add nothing to it.
At two pages
The rail empties out on a second page while the history keeps going, which looks unbalanced. Better kept to one.
Use something else if
Halcyon for the same shape in a cooler colour, or Atlas if you want a serif face with it.
