What defines this layout

Using Obsidian as a CV
Obsidian carries a photo, which is what a continental European CV expects alongside the personal details a British one leaves out. For the UK, Ireland or Australia, turn the photo off in Customize — the layout closes up around it and the rest of the page is unchanged.
It sits at a normal density, which lands most histories on the two pages a non-academic CV is expected to fit.

Is Obsidian the right choice?
Who it suits
Creative and technical portfolios where the resume is part of the work. A near-black page is a statement, and it should be a deliberate one.
What it does to ATS parsing
The text is real and extracts normally, but a dark page is the other thing that makes reviewers nervous. Send a light template if the posting mentions an applicant tracking system.
At two pages
Prints heavily at any length. At two pages, consider whether the reader will actually print it.
Use something else if
Chicago for a dark page with a serif face, or Domino if you want the contrast without printing the whole sheet.
