Cornice resume & CV template

A widely letterspaced serif name over a full-width rule, with a great deal of air below it. Restrained and expensive-feeling.

What defines this layout

  • Serif typeface
  • Single column
  • No photo
  • Headings with no rule
  • Dates right-aligned against each role

Every one of these is a setting, not a constraint — accent colour, font, size, spacing and page margins stay yours under Customize, and switching template later re-renders what you’ve written rather than starting it over.

Using Cornice as a CV

Cornice works as a British or Australian CV as it stands, where CV and resume name the same two-page document. The second column is the thing to check before sending: copy the text out of the exported PDF and confirm it reads in a sensible order.

It is set loose, so a CV running to the usual two pages will fill them comfortably — tighten the spacing in Customize if you need a third page's worth on two.

More on the differences: CV templates and CV examples.

Is Cornice the right choice?

Who it suits

Senior applications in traditional fields. A widely letterspaced serif name with a lot of room under it reads as seniority rather than decoration.

What it does to ATS parsing

Two columns. The letter-spacing is a style, not inserted characters, so the name extracts intact.

At two pages

Loose, so a long history will run over — and it reads well when it does.

Use something else if

Alabaster for an even quieter version, or Cameo for something tighter.
