Codex resume & CV template
A display serif name over a rule, with every section labelled down a wide left margin. Reads like a well-set book page.

What defines this layout
- Serif typeface
- Single column
- No photo
- Headings with no rule
- Dates in their own left column
Every one of these is a setting, not a constraint — accent colour, font, size, spacing and page margins stay yours under Customize, and switching template later re-renders what you’ve written rather than starting it over.
Using Codex as a CV
Codex is a single serif column with no photo, which is the closest thing here to an academic CV: the format that runs to as many pages as your publications, grants and teaching need. It is equally a British CV as it stands, where the document is a two-page career summary rather than a complete record.
It is set loose, so a CV running to the usual two pages will fill them comfortably — tighten the spacing in Customize if you need a third page's worth on two.
More on the differences: CV templates and CV examples.
Is Codex the right choice?
Who it suits
Academic and clinical CVs, and anywhere a page should read like a book rather than a form. The wide margin is the whole design.
What it does to ATS parsing
Single column. The margin labels are ordinary text in their own column.
At two pages
Its natural length. Few templates here look better at two pages than at one; this is one of them.
Use something else if
Marginalia for a tighter version, or Meadow for the sans equivalent.
