Cobalt resume & CV template
Strong blue headings over a full-width rule with the shorter sections ruled off down the right. Corporate and unfussy.

What defines this layout
- Sans-serif typeface
- Single column
- No photo
- Headings over a full-width rule
- Dates right-aligned against each role
Every one of these is a setting, not a constraint — accent colour, font, size, spacing and page margins stay yours under Customize, and switching template later re-renders what you’ve written rather than starting it over.
Using Cobalt as a CV
Cobalt works as a British or Australian CV as it stands, where CV and resume name the same two-page document. The second column is the thing to check before sending: copy the text out of the exported PDF and confirm it reads in a sensible order.
It sits at a normal density, which lands most histories on the two pages a non-academic CV is expected to fit.
More on the differences: CV templates and CV examples.
Is Cobalt the right choice?
Who it suits
Technology, consulting and finance — anywhere a strong blue reads as competent rather than decorative. The right-hand rule keeps skills visible without a filled sidebar.
What it does to ATS parsing
Two columns divided by a rule rather than a fill, which most parsers handle without complaint. Still worth the check.
At two pages
Good. The blue heading rules carry across a page break and the divider does not.
Use something else if
Meridian for the single-column version, or Ultramarine for the same idea with the contacts gridded.
